Our Mission
De Woonwolk creates a new form of living in the city. We build a dream home in Amsterdam Noord that is sustainable, where there is space to live, work, organize and create together and where creativity is given space.
As a housing cooperative, we are the owners ourselves and together we build our community. We share our knowledge and experiences and thus create a blueprint for the future of living.
We say NO to increasingly expensive housing and a profit-driven housing market. We contribute to a city in which living is accessible, affordable and future-proof, where residents feel connected to each other and where there is room for art and culture.

Community
De Woonwolk will be a place where people feel connected, both to each other and to the neighbourhood. Social cohesion is central. The intrinsic motivation to be helpful and open is ingrained in all members. This sense of community is reflected in our design and in our way of working.

Together we want to do more for planet Earth than we could individually. We create a home that is nature-inclusive, climate-proof and sustainable in the long term. In addition, we value reuse, repair and sharing.
Art & Culture
We believe that different cultural backgrounds and creative talents enrich our lives. Art, co-creation and creativity create connection. That is why we promote diversity, inclusion and self-expression.
Not only does our building offer space for art and artistic expressions, we as a community are also open to each other's unique ideas and perspectives. In this way, we form our community together.
Our House
We are building a house with approximately 51 apartments, common areas, a large garden and a roof terrace. We are building as sustainably as possible by building with many natural and recycled materials. We also want to be able to generate our own energy.
In the common areas we can meet, organize events, exhibit art, share, make or repair things, work together at home, let children play or invite the neighborhood. The building becomes accessible to everyone.
